1) a story in which the characters and events are symbols that stand for ideas about human life or for a political or historical situation
The allegory in Frankenstein was used to emanate religion. Victor represents God since he created life (the monster). The monster represents Adam since God had created Adam.
“Like Adam, I was apparently united by no link to any other being in existence; but his state was far different from mine in every other respect” The quote above shows that an allegory was used to emanate religion. The monster, alike Adam, was pure and caused no harm until Victor , alike God, didn't want anything to do with him and sent him away.
