complication (n.)
[kom-pli-key-shuh n]
1) the act of complicating
2) a complicated or involved state or condition
3) something that introduces, usually unexpectedly, some difficulty, problem, change, etc.
One major complication is when Frankenstein and the Monster see each other for the first time after a year. The Monster can speak, read, write, and is smarter than he was a year ago. He is also much stronger and faster. This is a complication for Frankenstein internally because he knows that the Monster is out for revenge, and he knows he has to do something to protect his loved ones. He knows what the Monster is capable of doing, since the Monster has already killed William, Frankenstein's younger brother.
