My review for Frankenstein
Transcript
The first Frankenstein movie adaption (1910) by Edison Studios.

Although this film was only 12 minutes long, I enjoyed it a lot. It didn't go by the book 100%, but it was still entertaining. The creation scene was probably my most favorite part. The effects were pretty remarkable, for a film that was created over 100 years ago. Although it didn't happen that way in the book, that scene was horrifying. I did not expect the monster's creation to happen that way. The choice of music for each scene was well thought out. I really like the piano chord that plays whenever the monster appears. Overall, I liked this short film. I don't normally watch old movies because I can't really stand the poor quality (the granulated pictures) and the monotone colors, but this movie appealed to me since it was short and went straight to the point.

John Green basically summarizes the novel Frankenstein.
Watching this video was helpful since there were visuals, and he gave in-depth explanations on things that needed a bit more explaining. He also talked about Mary Shelley and her history, and also her husband's history. |
